Parwal or pointed gourd is a summer vegetable widely available at affordable cost all over the country.It is a low caloried vegetable that helps in reducing bad cholestrol.This recipe requires only few ingredients and good to have if you are trying to reduce weight.I love it with indian dal and rice conbination.
Parwal : 250gm
Vegetable Oil : 1tsp
Black Pepper Powder : 1/4 tsp
Lemon: A half
In a pressure cooker put 1/2 cup water and parwal.As soon as the whistle blows take it off the flame and let it cool.Alternatively you can cook parwal in microwave for 5-6 min.
Heat Tawa . Spread 1 tsp of oil or brush the oil on it.Put boiled Parwal on this and cook it on both sides till it turns little brown.Alternatively you can grill it in microwave for 5 mins each side.Keep a watch it should not be too dry.
Sprinkle black pepper powder, white salt and squeeze half a lemon on it.Serve with dal-chawal.
